Dana Lyons is a politically aware US patriot and John Seed is an ecologically aware Australian environmentalist. The combine to bring us At Night They Howl At the Moon: Environmental Songs for Kids. They have a large following, it seems. Recorded live at a couple of concerts, the audience really gets into it. Everyone knows the songs.'I Am An Anima' has the audience singing along. By the second song, Lay Down Your Whopper, the crowd is yelling out the chorus. Dead Ducks is darker song about oil spill disasters that has the crowd quacking loudly. The kids insist We Don't Want To Live In The Zoo. Dinosaurs lasted millions of years yet they are in the public consciousness because Their Brains Were Small and They Died. Let's hope our successors remember us better. Not exactly hip-hop, Recycle Wrap plays to the beat. Eric Idle's The Galaxy Song is mysteriously retitled Expanding Universe and made more kid-friendly. I have been a big fan of Dana Lyons's music since 1978, when I was a college freshman and Dana was my college roommate. (Ok, so I will admit that I am biased but...) This collection of songs by Dana and friends comes the closest of any recording to capturing the absolute blast that audiences get from Dana's live performances. My three kids love this CD, and I do too. Our favorite song is Recycle Wrap, which we sing while we take out the recycling on Thursday nights. If you want your kids (or anyone else you love, including yourself) to have a CD of songs that are fun and funny (and yet still thought-provoking at times), get this CD. --Scott Jordan

I bought the CD for the tracks: Mosquito Party, Have to Have a Habitat, and Expanding Universe so I could put a Power Point to them while having my students sing along. These songs fit wonderfully into my science curriculum! --Matt
