How it works:
When you sign up to be an affiliate for us, we'll ask for a contact person who we will be working with (email address, phone number and a mailing address where we will send the check). This infomation will be held in strict confidence. We won't trade, share or sell this info... no way, no how.
Next you'll need to figure out which page you'd like to link to on our site. The most popular choice is linking to a listening page where your visitors can listen to a song, read the lyrics and find out more information about the song for free. For example, if you wanted to link to "Cows With Guns" (the song), you would need to email Katey and she would provide you with a custom link that would identify vistors coming to our site from yours.
We will give you some text and a small graphic that you might also include on your site (optional), or invent your way of posting the link. Just be sure to contact us FIRST for a custom link so that you will get credit for sales.
When people click into our site from your site, they will be able to browse around and if they decide to buy anything... you will get 10% of the sale.
It's fun:
The CowsWithGuns.com content is whacky. Besides potentially making some extra money, you can provide your visitors with some entertaining content by linking to us. People can listen to one of Dana's comedy songs like "Cows With Guns," "RV" or "Ride the Lawn." Or you can link to one of his more serious songs like "The Tree" or "Turn of the Wrench." You can link to songs that have some relevance to what your site is about or not. No matter where you in the site you link, you will find be providing your visitors some interesting and entertaining content while you are setting yourself up for some potentail extra revenue.
Why it is good for your website's traffic:
As a further incentive, on every page that you link to, we will post a link back to your website (back-link) at the bottom of the page. So if you link to the listening page for the song "Cows With Guns," at the bottom of that page we will have a back-link to your website.
Why it is that a great thing for your website?
Our website gets a tremendous amount of traffic. A couple years ago we had nearly 1 million visitors in a single year. Visitors that come to our website from all around the world will have an opportunity to visit your website from ours. This could amount to a fair bit of new traffic for your site.
Google Rankings
It could also improve your Google search rankings. Google's search rankings are partly based on links coming into your site (back-links). The more back-links you have coming in, the more "relevant" Google thinks your site is. And even more importantly, back-links from websites with large amounts of traffic (like ours) are weighted even higher. So one "good" back-link from a website like ours could be significant in improving your search rankings from Google.
We will publish new back-links on our website after we have verified your link to us. This may take as long as 2 weeks... hopefully sooner but please be patient for the back-link to appear.
Payment info:
We will cut you a check for your affiliate sales once per year in January or when your commission hits $100, whichever comes first. We are a small operation and we are attempting to keep our book keeping as simple as possible.

Go ahead and browse the website. Figure out if you'd like to link to an individual song, a music video, the store or anywhere else. Then email Katey and let her know which page(s) you've chosen and we'll get the ball rolling by sending you custom links that you or your webmaster can use to link to us. If you can't find a particular song's listening page, let us know and we'll set it up for you.
